A MAN has been assaulted in Cumbernauld.
Police Scotland said they were called to the scene on Braeface Road last night at around 7.30pm.
The force said that the man was taken to University Hospital Monklands. His injuries are unknown.
The area was cordoned off last night following the incident.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At around 7.30pm, police and the Scottish Ambulance Service received a report of a man having been assaulted on Braeface Road, Cumbernauld.
"He was taken to University Hospital Monklands.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
