ROADWORKS in Glasgow City Centre which had been set to go ahead from this weekend have been cancelled until after the festive period.
Hope Street, which is widely known to be one of Scotland’s most congested routes, was ready to be closed between Bath Street and Renfrew Street for carriageway patching work.
The works were starting this Sunday, November 18 until next Sunday, November 25, with the route meant to be shut from 8am until 6pm everyday.
However, it has now been confirmed the works will not be going ahead until the New Year.
A new start date has yet to be confirmed. However, it’s anticipated the works will take place over again within the same timeframe.
It is also expected that local access will be permitted between Bath Street and Sauchiehall Street, and that diversions will be put into place along Bath Street, Blythswood Street, Rose Street and Renfrew Street.
