Residents living close to where a dad-of-two was found murdered in Shawlands have been and quizzed by murder detectives.

A week on from the death of Owen Hassan, plain clothes and uniformed officers revisited the scene on Greenview Street.

Locals were stopped and interviewed in an attempt to jog their memories for information on the brutal murder.

Emergency services were called around 10.25pm on Wednesday November 7 after Owen was attacked by two men.

The 30-year-old was stumbled into a mum's pub, the Old Stag Inn, for help but died after being taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Detective Chief Inspector Martin Fergus said: “This evening we will be out speaking to people in Greenview Street and will be speaking to pedestrians and motorists who perhaps travel through this area on a regular basis around this particular time.

"We hope we can jog their memories into remembering something they may have seen or heard which could assist our murder investigation.

“We are continuing significant inquiries to trace the two men responsible for this attack on Mr Hassan and we would urge anyone with any information that may assist our police enquiries to contact the inquiry team through 101 quoting reference number 4167 of 7th November 2018.
