A strip club has been given a licence to show live sport after submitting a new operating plan to city chiefs.

Visitors to Seventh Heaven will now be able to watch their favourite football team on the big screen.

It comes just two months after the club was raided by police and immigration officers as part of a licensing and welfare operation.

No offences were discovered during that raid but club bosses realised that they need permission to show televised sports.

A spokesman told the Licensing Board: “The premises have a TV screen in their bar and if football, rugby or golf is on they can only show it if TV sports is in the operating plan.

“It’s a lap dancing club and 15 per cent of the customers are female with the others being male.”

After the raid on August 31, one dancer, known as ‘Gia’, described how female workers were left “terrified” and “treated like naughty children” by enforcement officers.
