COPS are on the hunt for a thug who threatened two shop workers with a knife and demanded cash.

The man entered Martin McColl Ltd on Househillwood Road in Pollok around 12.15pm yesterday.

He demanded the two women, aged 31 and 81-years-old respectively, hand over a three-figure sum of cash and a quantity of scratch cards.

He had a scarf covering his face and hood up but is described as white, 5ft 8 tall and was wearing a black parka style jacket with a white badge on the chest, light coloured jeans and black trainers with white soles.

He was last seen heading along Househillwood Road towards the Silverburn shopping centre.

Glasgow Times:

The women were uninjured but left shaken.

Detective Constable Kimberley Douglas at the Greater Glasgow Community Investigation Unit said today: “Luckily in this case no one was physically hurt although it was a traumatic experience for the women working in the shop and it’s vital that we catch the man responsible as he could very well strike again.

“I’d like to speak to anyone who may have seen this man hanging around the area prior to the robbery taking place or anyone who has seen him running off afterwards.”

Anyone with information should contact police at the Community Investigation Unit based at Helen Street Police Station via telephone number 101.

Alternatively calls can be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
