A stash of Valium with a street value of £150,000 has been discovered at a flat in Govan.
Officers have said the quantity of drugs, found in Napier Terrace, were likely going to be circulated in the local community.
The flat was searched by officers acting on warrant around 5.25pm on Tuesday.
A quantity of drugs, believed to be Diazepam, were recovered.
A 44-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the recovery and is due before Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday 21 November 2018.
A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
Detective Inspector Steven Elliot said: “This was a significant seizure of tablets that may have been circulated in the local community. Usually there is no quality control to the pills we recover and the people who buy them have no way of knowing what is in them.
“We remain committed to ridding our communities of illegal drugs and we will continue to act on any criminality and intelligence received. Those living in our local communities play a vital part in this and if you have any information on those involved in the supply of controlled drugs, please contact your local police office through 101. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
