A THUG who tried to kill his terrified ex-partner weeks after they split has been jailed for seven years.
David Munroe attacked Nattassja Cairns after storming up to her flat in Drumchapel, Glasgow.
Burly Munroe battered the mum before grabbing a knife from a drawer and repeatedly stabbing her.
The 33-year-old returned to the High Court in Glasgow today having earlier pleaded guilty to an attempted murder charge.
Munroe – who already had a history of violence – will be supervised for a further three years on his release.
The judge also imposed an indefinite non-harassment order banning him from going near his ex or posting anything about her on social media.
Lord Clark said the jail-term would have been nine years and four months, but for the guilty plea.
