EMERGENCY services have swooped on a busy Ayr street after a man was rushed to hospital following an early morning incident.
Police were called to reports of a man being seriously assaulted in the town's Main Road around 5.25am.
His injuries are not yet known but officers confirmed it was a "very serious incident".

Part of the street is understood to be sealed off as cops piece together what happened in the seaside town.
Locals have branded the incident "horrific" with some claiming the man was stabbed.
A spokeswoman for the force confirmed: "Around 5.25am police received a report of a serious assault in Main Street, Ayr.
"Emergency services attended and one man was taken hospital.
"Officers are still on the scene just now carrying out enquiries."
