RANGERS held on after losing Daniel Candeias to a first half red card to earn a second consecutive draw with Villarreal.

The Ibrox side battled for the entire second half, even having a goal disallowed for offside, before eventually walking away with a point.

It was a decent result for Rangers, with Scottish football fans taking to Twitter to give their thoughts throughout the match.

There were problems even before the match started as some of those watching found it hard to read the club's message.

But plans have already been drawn up for an improved display at the Gers' next home match.

There was a welcome distraction from the pressures of the match as NASA's disaster plan for earth was revealed during the match.

And the praise for the Scotland goalkeeper did not stop there.

While many were full of praise for Allan McGregor, the night turned from bad to worse for Daniel Candeias as he was given a red card. From the reaction, most viewers seemed to think it was a harsh decision.

But the Portuguese midfielder was not the only one playing the villain on Thursday...

Although the Ibrox side were down to ten men, there was still a lot of praise for how the side kept it together under pressure.

And it was a decent result given the circumstances.

But the excitement of the big European nights was just too much for some fans, as they couldnt't quite make it until the end of the match.
