A CHEF has come up with a festive recipe yule die for - a thin crust pizza topped with a full Christmas dinner.

The calorie-heavy feast is topped with candied pigs-in-blankets, roast potatoes, slow-cooked pulled turkey and even Brussels sprouts.

Costing a tenner, the pizza is drizzled with gravy and dotted with sage and onion stuffing and has proved a hit with diners since it went on sale.

Glasgow Times:

Glasgow Times: It was dreamed up by chefs at Pizza Punks restaurant in Glasgow and went on sale at the end of November.

Operations manager Louise McCabe, 31, said: “It has been a massive hit so far.

“One of our really popular dishes is candied bacon, cooked with demerara sugar and maple syrup in the oven.

“We were looking for Christmas ideas, and everyone likes pigs-in-blankets.

Glasgow Times: “So we decided to candy them, and we then thought about what else we could do.

“We are trying to do something different.

“We have put a whole Christmas dinner on a pizza - it is like an edible plate.”

The roast potatoes are cooked for around 20 minutes, and everything is made on site from scratch.

Glasgow Times: Louise added: “I don’t think I’ve heard of anything else like it.

“The sprouts are like pineapple on pizza - it’s about 50/50 either way.

“Everything seems to be quite predictable at Christmas, it’s all turkey and cheesecake.

“This is still in the Christmas spirit, but it’s not traditional.”
