THE car which was left on its roof in an early-morning crash near the Clyde Tunnel was stolen just moments before, police have confirmed.
The Evening Times previously reported how pictures posted on social media showed an overturned vehicle near the Expressway, with Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service in attendance.
The incident was believed to have taken place at around 3am with emergency services still at the scene after 5am.
Now, Police Scotland has said it was called at around 3am to a report of a Range Rover stolen from outside a house in Crow Road.
A short time later, a report was received regarding a road crash involving the same vehicle at the southbound Clyde Tunnel.
The driver made off and enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver.
Anyone with any information that may assist the police investigation should contact Helen Street Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 0322 as of December 3.
