YOU can’t help but smile when you watch Lea Michele and Darren Criss perform together.

The likeable duo took variety to the next level and left their audience feeling gleeful during their first ever Scottish show together at the Clyde Auditorium on Tuesday night.

Best known for their Glee characters Rachel Berry and Blaine Anderson, the popular actors blended their voices beautifully for an intimate show which featured everything from the hits of Broadway to pop favourites.

“I love the Scots,” professed handsome Darren as he took the stage with his former co-star Lea.

“We have never played here,” he added as the duo began with a selection of musical theatre numbers including Broadway Baby and Suddenly Seymour.

Lea then took centre stage on her own to belt out the Funny Girl anthem Don’t Rain On My Parade.

Covers of Lady Gaga’s Poker Face and Edge of Glory impressed while Have Yourself A Little Christmas put the audience in the festive mood.

Next up it was Darren’s turn for a solo stint on the stage.

Like Lea he performed some of his own music including Going Nowhere.

But it was the hits that the fans wanted to hear and he delivered just that especially on his cover of the Grease power ballad Hopelessly Devoted to You and Katy Perry's Teenage Dream.

Darren’s love of all things Scottish continued as he teased fans with his versions of Travis’ Sing, The Proclaimers’ I’m Gonna Be (500 miles) before delivering his take of the Chvrches’ Recover. He even put on a Scottish accent singing The Proclaimers which amused the audience.

The pair reunited for a final send-off, and a cover of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's Shallow from the movie A Star is Born was a moment to remember. Lea's voice was simply powerful and spine-tingling at moments while Darren carried the tune with the same dignity as Cooper.

This concert was like no other and proved just how talented the cast of Glee are. Both artists are respected actors in their own right but their love of music and passion for song created a show which was simple yet spectacular.
