A THUG will be spending Christmas behind bars after assaulting a police inspector on his way to work with the intention of robbing him of his car.
Brian Kimmett, 30, yelled “Gies the keys ya w***” at inspector Sean Burke as he got out of his car to go to London Road Police Office.
He followed the officer, who didn’t respond. Then Kimmett carried on with his crime spree in Glasgow's Bridgeton area.
He showed Samantha Lyon a weapon and threatened to “use it” if she didn’t give him her keys to her Audi, then got into her car.
Kimmett targeted two more women in their cars before being arrested.
He pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to a string of charges including assault with intent to rob, and attempting to steal a car on August 6, 2018.
Sheriff John McCormick jailed Kimmett for 27 months for his crimes.
