ONE of Glasgow’s newest music venues drew records numbers in to events last month.
In November SWG3 welcomed 25,000 people to gigs including dance legends Groove Armada and Mogwai - a rise of 40% year on year.
Music venues in Glasgow alone generate £159.7m for the Scottish economy.
The West End venue was awarded the ‘Evolution’ honour at last weekend’s SSE Scottish Music Awards.
A new luxury backstage area has now been added to the venue, in response to SWG3’s rapidly expanding music programme.
SWG3 Founder, Mutley, said: “As a city, Glasgow punches well above its weight when it comes to music and culture, and it’s important that venues like us continue to maintain that aspiration by providing the very best experiences for music-goers and artists coming to the city.”
In the past eighteen months, SWG3 has added Acid Bar – a stylish bar and restaurant space, Galvanizers, a new Box Office, and most recently the backstage area, amounting to an investment in excess of £1.3 million.
