WHAT Every Woman Wants business tycoon Gerald Weisfeld has become the first resident to move into a new, luxury £10million care home

Vera Weisfeld OBE, and her family, accompanied her husband to Bothwell Castle Care Home, which has been compared to a boutique hotel.

Glasgow Times:

It boasts a cinema, cocktail, piano bar, games room and a hair and beauty salon as well as a chauffeur-driven Mercedes and fine dining restaurant.

However, the company say the local community will also benefit aslocal groups will be given the opportunity to use designated spaces free of charge to host events including exercise classes.

Gerald 78, was the buyer behind the hugely successful brand that the couple built up from one store to a chain of 130 UK stores and sold in 1990 for £50m.

Glasgow Times:

More than £10m has been invested into the purpose built care home which will create over 100 full and part-time jobs and provide nursing, residential, dementia and respite care.

Katherine Bain, Home Manager, at Bothwell Castle Care, said: “Our ethos is very much on re-ablement, encouraging residents to continue to be physically and emotionally active, looking very much at what they can do rather than focusing on any age related challenges they may have.

“We are very excited to welcome Gerald as our first resident.”
