DETECTIVES have issued a desperate appeal for information in a bid to catch the thug who gunned down Airdrie man Gary More.

The 32-year-old was shot multiple times outside his home in Gartness Drive in Chapelhall around 8.10pm on September 6.

He died in the arms of sisters Lyndsey More, while a friend who was with him at the time was uninjured.

Detective Superintendent Allan Burton of the Major Investigation Team, the officer in charge of the inquiry, said:"As you would imagine, Gary's family are distraught and struggling to come to terms with his tragic death.

"There is a significant number of officers working to identify the people involved in the incident but there are still gaps we need to fill.

"The team is reviewing hours of CCTV footage to trace the movements of the Skoda Fabia.

"We also need to take the gun used in the attack off the streets. I know there are people who have the answers we are looking for.

"If you know anything that can assist the enquiry then I implore you to come forward."
