A Glasgow office building has been evacuated after a business received a 'threat'.

Several businesses ordered their staff to leave the Guildhall office building on Queen Street after a threat was allegedly made to The Scottish Sun newspaper.

Police confirmed that a business in the building had received a threat 'via telephone' this afternoon.

Offices including The Scottish Sun and Clydesdale Bank evacuated as police carried out investigations.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Police can confirm they received a report that a business on Queen Street received a threat via telephone.

"Officers from Police Scotland are currently in attendance and enquiries are ongoing.

"The business took the decision to evacuate the building."
