Police are treating a daytime assault on a man near Tollcross Park as attempted murder.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Tollcross Road around 2.45pm on Sunday.

The 19-year-old victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he was treated for his injuries.

Medical staff have described his condition as 'stable'.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Police were called to a report report of a man being assaulted near to Tollcross Park around 2.45pm on Sunday afternoon.

"The man was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary where his condition is described as stable.

"Officers are treating the incident as attempted murder and enquiries are ongoing."
