AN East End cafe has shared an urgent appeal for help after its oven broke just days before Christmas.
The Freedom Cafe and Everlasting Foodbank in Dennistoun are due to host a Christmas Eve dinner for those in need.
However, the plans have now been thrown into chaos following the equipment failure.
Staff are now searching for someone to possibly fix the oven before the end of the week.
A post on Facebook reads: “Does anyone know anyone local who can help fix a commercial oven. The The Freedom Cafe /The Everlasting Foodbank are holding a Xmas Eve dinner for those in need and we're pretty desperate.
“HELP! It's a Burco swing door oven.”
The Freedom Cafe describes itself as a ‘pay as you feel’ restaurant and was set up to support people struggling to feed themselves.
It is an offshoot of The Everlasting Foodbank, founded in Dennistoun four years ago.
Everlasting Foodbank is one of a small number that doesn't use referrals from other agencies so people come from a wide catchment area to use its services, as far away as Johnstone and Paisley.
Can you help? Contact the Freedom Cafe or Everlasting Foodbank.
