A CONVICTED murderer known as one of the House of Blood killers who abused his partner after his release, will have his punishment decided by the parole board.

John McAlinden, 31, was jailed for life along with his mum and friend for brutal attacks which left three men dead in a blood-soaked Crosshill flat in 2004.

He was released early, in October 2016 but is now back behind bars for breaching the terms of his release, after threatening and abusive behaviour towards Lauren Cassidy, 24.

McAlinden pled guilty last month at Glasgow Sheriff Court, to shouting and swearing at her, and knocking a phone out of her hand, during an incident in Glasgow city centre in July.

He appeared back in front of sheriff Paul Brown who admonished him to allow the parole board process “to take its course”.

Mr McCarron added: “He’s very anxious to put his past behind him.”

The court was told Miss Cassidy is standing by him and they are in a “stable relationship”.

McAlinden had originally been charged with kicking and hitting her on the body but his not guilty plea was accepted by the Crown.

At the earlier hearing when he admitted his guilt, fiscal depute Lauren Staunton said two witnesses heard McAlinden shout “get out of my f*****g way you bitch” at Miss Cassidy as they walked down Elmbank Street, just before 1am, and called the police.

She continued: “Further witnesses heard the accused shouting and swearing towards Miss Cassidy.

The killer, his mum Edith and his friend Jamie Gray were accused of murdering Edith’s boyfriend David Gillespie, 42, and his pensioner friends Ian Mitchell, 67, and Tony Coyle, 71.

During their trial, they changed their pleas and admitted to one murder each.
