Train passengers are facing another morning of stress due a failed electricity supply affecting a number of routes.

ScotRail have reported that due to a failure of electricity supply at Hamilton Central, several routes will be disrupted.

The fault is affecting all services travelling towards Motherwell and Larkhall.

Dalmuir to Larkhall services will terminate at Newton while Larkhall to Milngavie services are start at Newton.

The Milngavie to Motherwell service via Hamilton Central is running non stop between Rutherglen and Motherwell.

The Milngavie to Cumbernauld service via Hamilton Central is running non stop between Rutherglen and Motherwell, where they will terminate and start back from.

Anyone travelling from Glasgow to stations on the Hamilton Circle, is being asked to catch a train to Motherwell and use a connecting service instead.

A shuttle bus service is in operation between Motherwell and Cumbernauld, and between Larkhall and Hamilton Central.

Disruption is expected to last until 2pm.
