JEWELLERY and cash was stolen by a man who left an elderly couple ‘shaken’ after confronting them during a break-in.

Police say the victims, a man, 80, and woman, 78, returned to their home in Stirling Drive, Bishopbriggs at around 12.20am on Sunday after an event and were confronted by a man who had broken into their house.

No-one was injured, although the couple were left extremely shaken following their ordeal.

The man responsible is described as being white, between 6ft and 6ft 2 inches in height, medium build, a bald head with hair at the sides and he was wearing a khaki Parka-style jacket with a fur hood. He stole a watch, and other jewellery, and a four-figure sum of money.
