A 21-year-old was rushed to hospital yesterday evening after being injured during an altercation with another man in Rutherglen.
At around 5.45pm on Saturday, police were called to the incident on Glasgow Road.
Emergency services attended and the victim was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
Medical staff describe his condition as stable.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Around 5.45pm on Saturday, December 29 2018, police were called to Glasgow Road, Rutherglen, after a 21-year-old man was injured during an altercation with another man.
"Enquiries are continuing."
