A MAN has been left with a deep cut to the neck after a serious assault outside a McColl’s in Glasgow.

Police Scotland said the incident took place at around 7.55pm at the shop on Househillwood Road on Sunday, December 30.

The 34-year-old victim was assaulted by another man after the pair had left the store.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was treated for a laceration to his neck and then released from hospital.

The force is not looking to the public for information as detectives investigate the incident.

Police say the suspect was last seen heading north towards Lunderston Drive.

He is described as white, in his thirties, 5ft 10 in height, of medium build and was wearing a black padded jacket, grey jogging bottoms, green baseball cap and carrying a plastic carrier bag.

Detective constable Mark Hendry, at Helen Street CID, said: “We know both the victim and the suspect had been in the shop just before the assault took place and we are currently making local enquiries and viewing CCTV in attempt to gather further information.

“Anyone who has any information as to the identity of the suspect or has any other information that could assist us in tracing him is asked to contact police at Helen Street CID via telephone number 101 quoting incident number 3552 of December 30, 2018.”
