EX-Celtic ace Chris Sutton is set to meet with police after receiving a sinister death threat, according to reports.

The disturbing message is said to have come following Rangers’ 1-0 victory over Celtic in last month’s Old Firm at Ibrox.

According to the Daily Record, 45-year-old Sutton - who apparently reported the threat to police close to his home down south - said: “I don’t want to go into any detail as this is a private matter and it is now in the hands of the police.”

“Suffice to say, I have seen what’s been sent and it wasn’t a particularly pleasant thing to receive,” he added.

Sutton was vocal over the SFA’s failure to take retrospective action against Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos.

The 22-year-old was involved in three incidents during the game, one in which he appeared to kick out at Hoops skipper Scott Brown.

It was later confirmed the Colombian had no disciplinary charges to answer, something Sutton referred to as “farcial” on Twitter.

Morelos has picked up 13 yellow cards and three reds this season, albeit one against Aberdeen earlier in the season was rescinded.
