A GLASGOW bar has announced it is to give away free cans of beer to customers donating to local foodbanks in the city.
Church on the Hill, next to Queen's Park, hs launched a 'Can for a Can' scheme which it hopes will boost stocks in the area's foodbanks.
Announced on Thursday, the bar will be giving away a can of Cold Town Beer for every food item donated.

Every donor over the age of 18 can redeem one can of beer per day. However, customers can claim their free beer on consecutive days if they return and donate again.
The idea has been welcomed by locals after it was announced in local Facebook groups.

Emma Stewart posted: "I love this idea! Especially as January is usually a quieter time for foodbank collections. Great initiative."
