GLASGOW has seen glamour as Idris Elba acted on city streets and hosted everything from Brad Pitt's zombie apocalypse to Benedict Cumberbatch in old-style New York.

And now further filming is to take place in Glasgow city centre... but this time for arguably less glamorous reasons.

If movie fans feel their pulses quicken at the sight of cameras in Anderston, the city centre and Knightswood next week they might soon feel a little disappointment.

The Department of Infrastructure of Northern Ireland has requested a slew of road closures.

The government department is filming a cycle safety advert asking drivers to respect shared space with other road users.

In order to facilitate filming, the following roads will be restricted to all vehicles unless permission or prior access arrangements have been agreed with the filming location manager.

On January 15 between 7.30am and 7pm Argyle Street, between Shaftsbury Street and North Street; McIntyre Street between property four and Argyle Street; Perth Street and Shaftsbury Lane will be shut.

On January 16 between 6am and 7pm Pitt Street, between Bath Street and West George Street; and West Regent Street between Holland Street and Douglas Street will be closed.

Then on January 17 from 7.30am til 7pm Archerhill Road, between Archerhill Crescent and Bard Avenue, and Langley Avenue will be affected.
