MORE than 10,000 people packed into Venue Cymru over the weekend for one of Wales’ most unique events.

Take pART event returned to Llandudno over the course of Saturday and Sunday, celebrating it’s 10th anniversary.

The event gave attendees an opportunity to try a variety of different activities from drawing Star Wars characters to musical masterclasses with X-Factor’s Lloyd Macey.

Venue Cymru marketing officer, Lucy Piper, said: “This weekend saw the return of our flagship event take pART. Our 10th anniversary was marked with some 10,000 people enjoying two full days of arts, literature and science and the opportunity to try things they’ve never tried before.

“Highlights included inspirational talks from CBBC’s Dr Ronx, Aardman Animation workshops, Star Wars drawing with Lucas Film Artist JAKe and Musical Masterclasses from X-Factors Lloyd Macey.

“The return of firm favourites The Daily PlanART Newspaper, Clog Dancing, Keystrings and West End Stage made up some of our diverse programme of events.

“The weekend concluded with a finale from BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Welsh National Opera, Citrus Arts’ Cloud-Swing and the ultimate extravaganza from SPARK! drummers who were back by very popular demand.

“Take pART is a one of a kind event and we are proud that the largest event of its kind in Wales is hosted under our roof. The event is fuelled with hard work and passion from all departments of Venue Cymru staff. Ably lead by General Manager, Sarah Ecob.

“Supported by The Arts Council of Wales, Conwy County Borough Council, Conwy Arts Trust and Llandudno Town Council we are pleased to confirm that the event will continue into its eleventh year in January 2020.”
