A PENSIONER is fighting for his life after being hit by a van when crossing the road in Linwood.
The 84-year-old was crossing Abernethy Drive yesterday afternoon at around 4.45pm when he was hit by a Vauxhall Combo.
Emergency services rushed to the scene where the elderly pedestrian was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
He remains in hospital, where staff describe his condition as serious.
The 51-year-old driver of the van was uninjured.
Sergeant Kenneth Malaney from the Road Policing Unit based at Helen Street is urging any witnesses, or anyone with information that may assist his investigation to contact his office through 101 quoting incident number 2539 of January 15.
