A pensioner has died after being hit by a car while crossing the road.
The 84-year-old man was struck by a van in Linwood on Tuesday around 4.45pm
He had been crossing Abernethy Drive when was hit by a Vauxhall Combo van being driven by a 51-year-old man.
Emergency services attended and the elderly pedestrian was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a day later. His next of kin have been made aware.
The driver of the van was uninjured.
Sergeant Kenneth Malaney from the Road Policing Unit based at Helen Street is urging any witnesses, or anyone with information that may assist his investigation to contact his office through 101 quoting incident number 2539 of Tuesday 15 January 2019.
