The first snowfall of the season appears to have hit Glasgow.

Traffic Scotland cameras captured the flakes on a road through Port Dundas.

It comes as a severe weather warning was issued to Glasgow for freezing temperatures.

A yellow weather alert for snow and ice was in place for the south east of the country, running until 10am this morning bringing with it “sleet and snow showers then ice”.

The Met Office forecast shows temperatures dipping to -4C tonight, followed by “small amounts” of sleet or snow on Friday and “wintry showers and rain or snow” into next week.
