NASHVILLE singing star Charles ‘Chip’ Esten joined others in singing happy birthday to one of his fans outside the Fruitmarket.

Fans or Nashies as they are known were truly’ chipnotised’ by the singer as he insisted on posing for selfies with every one of them who was outside after the gig.

During the concert he even had a laugh as one cried out Haud Yer Wheesht as he tried to talk.

Evening Times:

Marti goes for a ‘granny look’ as he cooks up a storm at home

HERE’S Marti Pellow as you’ve never seen him before – dressed as a granny!

The Wet Wet Wet singer who has decided to concentrate on his solo career for the future has been in a fun mood ever since the new year.

Marti who is a keen chef and told me before that he would have become one if he hadn’t pursued singing, decided to make some mince and tarries during these cold days.

Evening Times:

To add a bit of twist he said he felt like his granny and proceeded to dress as her.

In a high pitch voice he laughed: “Here’s the mash, here’s the stew and here’s me.”

Trip to the pictures for Tunstall

KT Tunstall arrived in Glasgow a day early ahead of her appearance at Celtic Connections for some jamming with Roddy Hart  – and had a sneaky trip to the cinema to watch James McAvoy in action.

The singer, who played an Abbey Road Beatles celebration concert as part of Celtic Connections, said she last performed with Roddy at the opening of the South Queensferry crossing when he got to sing in front of the Queen.

When it was her turn she revealed the Queen had already left and the fans were also leaving to get on the last bus home.

She laughed: “The only two people that were left were my mum and Nicola Sturgeon.”
