Friends of a woman who passed away at the age of just 27 are appealing for her favourite band to pay tribute to her at their upcoming concert.

Danielle Hosie, from Mount Florida, was such a big fan of the Spice Girls that two of their songs were played at her funeral in February, last year.

Those close to her are now looking to commemorate her life once again through a special dedication at the band’s show in June.

Danielle was diagnosed with Polymorphis Adenocarcinoma, a rare form of cancer that affects around one person every seven years, in 2011.

Due to the size of the tumour, Danielle had to have the left half of her face removed from the inside.

As a tribute, a group of her friends have booked tickets to see the Spice Girls at Murrayfield, and are appealing for the band to dedicate the song Goodbye to the much-loved young woman - after it was was played at her funeral.

Jacqueline, one of Danielle’s closest friends, said: “Danielle's most favourite band in the world was the Spice Girls, of the two songs played at her funeral her first and most undoubted choice was Spice Girls, Goodbye My Friends.

“We want to remember Danielle and all cancer sufferers in Scotland and as a big public thank you to the Beatson who did so much for her.
