THE trailer for a new film shot in Glasgow about a troubled single mum who dreams of becoming a Nashville star has been released.
Irish singer Jessie Buckley takes the lead role in ‘Wild Rose’ alongside Harry Potter star Dame Julie Walters.
The Evening Times reported last year how Dame Julie was snapped filming scenes for the movie at Silverburn shopping centre with Buckley.
Dame Julie - who earned herself a generation of new fans after playing Molly Weasley in the Harry Potter film series - had previously been spotted filming around Glasgow, including in Bearsden and Maryhill.
‘Wild Rose’ has been described as a “comedy-drama about mothers and daughters.”
It follows the talented Rose-Lynn Harlan (Buckley) who, fresh out of jail and with two young children, is desperate to get out of Glasgow and make it big as a country singer.
Her mum Marion (Walters) has had enough of Rose-Lynn’s Nashville nonsense.
Forced to take responsibility, Rose-Lynn gets a cleaning job, only to find an unlikely champion in the middle-class lady of the house.
Glasgow comedian Janey Godley has also appeared as a barmaid in the trailer.
Scenes have also been shot in the Grand Ole Opry on Govan Road.
‘Wild Rose’ is due to be released in UK cinemas on April 19, 2019.
