RESIDENTS have told how thieves targeted five addresses on the South Side as nine robberies took place in the West End.
Last week the Evening Times told how last Monday night police were called to seven locations around Kelvindale.
It has now come to light that a further five attempted break-ins and thefts took place on the same day on the south of the city.
There is no suggestion that the incidents on January 14 are connected.
Two of the robberies were disturbed by householders with one woman returning home to find thieves in her house.
And a second housebreaking was stopped when another woman came back from work, causing thugs to make off.
Two incidents occurred on Muirdrum Avenue, two on Monifieth Avenue and one on Gauldry Avenue.
In one instance a shed was broken into and a bike stolen.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Enquiries are ongoing following these housebreaking incidents recently and to trace who is responsible.
"Our local problem solving team, supported by divisional officers, is focused on identifying these offenders and are proactively working within the community to reduce acquisitive crime.
"Support from local people is vital and I would ask residents to pass on any information or concerns."
As told by the Evening Times last week, a man has been charged with the West End robberies, which took place over the space of an hour.
Thomas Guthrie appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court charged with five robberies with assault and another four attempted robberies.
The 23-year-old, from Glasgow, was also charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop when ordered by police, driving while disqualified and without insurance.
Enquiries to trace a second subject are still ongoing.
During the incidents one man was seriously injured and three women were threatened with weapons, including an axe.
