A WOMAN has been left "shaken" after being mugged near Queen's Park on Glasgow's South Side.

Police Scotland launched its helicopter to hunt for the suspect after the 64-year-old had her handbag stolen.

The victim was on Langside Avenue at Camphill Avenue when two men approached her, pushed her to the ground and grabbed her bag - which was later recovered nearby by police.

The incident occurred around 8.25pm. Police Scotland initially said the robbery occured on Langside Road but subsequently updated this information.

The woman did not require medical treatment but was injured.

The two suspects are described as white, with one wearing a white top and dark blue jacket and the other a light coloured jacket, and made off into Queens Park.

Detective Sergeant Juan Carlos Arias De Leon, Community Investigation Unit, said: “The woman did not require medical treatment but still received minor injuries and was shaken by the incident.

“Officers managed to recover the woman’s belongings shortly afterwards however it is imperative we continue our investigation to find those responsible.

"This sort of crime will not be tolerated.

“We are appealing for anyone who has any information regarding this incident to come forward.
