GLASGOW loves Dippy - it’s official.
The Natural History Museum’s famous dinosaur skeleton, on tour around the UK, has given Kelvingrove its busiest weekend for more than a decade.
More than 24,000 people visited the west end art gallery and museum to see the giant diplodocus skeleton as part of Dippy on Tour: A Natural History Adventure.
The splendid 292-bone structure, 21-metre long cast is on display at Kelvingrove until May 6.
Glasgow Life chairman Councillor David McDonald said: “Over the weekend Dippy greeted an incredible 24,000 plus visitors as they entered the main hall. That’s our busiest Saturday and Sunday for over a decade.
“He has certainly impressed his Scottish audience.”
