TRAVELODGE bosses have received more than 600 applications for just 15 jobs.

The hotel chain has six properties in Glasgow and is creating a new team for its latest edition in Govan.

Shelby McKinnon, Hotel Manager, managed to whittle down the applicants and recruit her team of 15 in just three days.

Shelby said: “I am overwhelmed by the amazing response I received for the 15 positions I advertised to join my new team.

"I was looking for individuals who are passionate about delivering great customer service and I am delighted that I now have a great team of local people in place.

"My focus right now is to train my team up so that we can hit the ground running when our hotel opens this spring as we are set for a busy year ahead."

Jobs included eight receptionists and Bar Café team members with six housekeeping staff.

Shelby joined Travelodge as a hotel manager 18 months ago and has gained a wealth of experience working across the six Glasgow based Travelodge hotels in preparation for the new hotel, near to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Glasgow Govan Travelodge, a 60-room hotel with an on-site restaurant called the Bar Café represents a multi-million investment for the landlord.

It will be the company’s seventh hotel in Glasgow and its 45th property in Scotland.
