NETWORK Rail repair teams have worked through the night to fix train tracks
Network Rail alerted ScotRail last night to a track defect with a set of switches and crossings on the approach to Glasgow Central which needed “urgent repair.”
Services to and from Ayrshire, Inverclyde and Paisley Canal were all cancelled and replacement buses were put on instead.

This morning, Network Rail said: “Thanks to the teams who worked hard overnight to replace the defective points on the approach to Glasgow Central which impacted on services to Ayrshire and Inverclyde yesterday evening.

ScotRail added: “A huge thank you to Network Rail Scotland engineers who worked all through the night to replace defective points on the approach to Glasgow Central.
“This means services are running normally today in the Ayrshire/Inverclyde areas.”
