Strictly’s sparkly, supersized sister show, the Strictly Live Tour, is back in Glasgow this weekend.

Here are nine reasons you don’t want to miss it…

1 Shirley is coming!

For the first time since the awesome foursome was introduced, the complete quartet of Strictly judges will be on the tour. This is good news for fans of head judge Shirley Ballas, who joined the hit BBC One show in 2017, and who will judge alongside Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli. At other venues, Shirley has taken to the floor, demonstrating why she is a multiple Latin American champion - so fingers crossed Shirl gives us a twirl in Glasgow too.

2 Ore is back!

The 2016 Strictly winner Ore Oduba returns as host. “Goes without saying, I’m so excited to be back hosting the tour again,” he explains. “As many people know, Strictly means a lot to me so to be back with the gang…well, let’s just say it didn’t take long for me to say yes.” It’s no easy task, to get audiences going in these vast, cavernous arenas, but Ore’s a charming and friendly compere audiences quickly warm to.

3 Craig is in charge!

The live show will once again be directed by Craig Revel Horwood, who is not nearly as nasty as his persona on the telly show would suggest. Watching him have a wee dance and take all the slagging off with good grace is part of the fun – he’s a good sport, really. One word. Three syllables. Fab-U-Lous.

4 Bruno’s kilt!

It would be a huge disappointment for the Glasgow audience should Bruno, the wild-eyed, wavy-armed judge, decide to break with tradition and not wear his kilt to the city shows. His sporran-swinging antics and fruity chat add a certain something to the evening. Bruno says: “We are all in for a treat - with the amazing dance routines, the stunning costumes and the incredible live music - it’s going to be fantastico!” Fantastico!

5 Divine Darcy!

There is something mesmerising about graceful Darcy Bussell, who glides effortlessly on to the Glasgow dance floor to take her place on the judging panel. The former prima ballerina has still got the moves too - watch out for her taking a spin with some of the professional men.

6 The voting!

As well as enjoying the glittering routines, arena audiences have the power to decide who wins the coveted Glitterball Trophy at the end of each show.  So far Joe and Dianne (now we know they are properly a couple too, which is lovely) have won every show – will Glasgow break their run?

7 The Paso Dooley!

Stacey and Kevin won the glitterball trophy on the 2018 series (and the hearts of the nation) with their chummy partnership and carry on, coupled with some really excellent dances. One of the best was the Paso Doble and audiences up and down the country are loving getting the chance to see it again, albeit with Aljaž instead of Kevin, who is doing other things. Stacey says: “I’m loving this experience so much. I know people always say that, but it’s so true. To be able to go on tour and perform for the fans all over the UK is such an honour. I’m so excited! l miss Kev, but I like putting Aljaž through his paces..”

8 Giovanni’s blonde wig!

Many Strictly performances are legendary. THAT jive from Jai and Aliona. John Sergeant dragging Anne Widdecombe across the stage. Equally, few people will forget Faye Tozer and Giovanni Pernice in blonde wigs and lederhosen, tackling the Charleston with all the gusto of two crazed goatherds. They are very kindly recreating it on tour, which is reason alone to spend the ticket money...

9 The band and singers!

The Strictly singers and the awesome musicians are a vital part of the success of the show, both on telly and on tour. The live shows allow the singers to come out from behind the mikes a little more, and it’s always a roof-raising performance. Loving your work….
