DRUGS with a street value of £65,000 were found in a car in Glasgow city centre.

Two men, aged 33 and 43, have since been arrested and charged following the discovery of herbal cannabis.

Police stopped the vehicle at 5.40pm on Tuesday, finding a "significant quantity" of the drug.

Both men were due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Detective Inspector Steven Elliott, Greater Glasgow Pro-active Unit, said: "Two men have been arrested and a significant quantity of drugs have been taken off the street.

"Our officers patrol Greater Glasgow and their vigilance and commitment to keeping people safe often results in drug recoveries like this.

"This result will significantly impact those involved in drug dealing and the public can be reassured that we are always out tackling the issues affecting our communities.”
