A GLASGOW student has gone viral after creating a touching tribute to her granddad.

Lauren Mulvey, from Govan, put together a selection of photos showing how her gran has coped with losing her partner of almost 55 years.

The photography student took to social media to share her college project featuring a heartbreaking video, which has been shared hundreds of times.

Lauren, 25, told the Evening Times: "I originally was going to document the life of elderly in a care home.

"I had it all set in stone and had contacted Kinning Park Care Home and was to go along, then an idea popped into my head that I could show how losing someone affects people in many ways physically and mentally ... I knew that the subject would be hard to do as I loved my granddad so much but I knew it would touch the hearts of people in similar situations.

"I never thought the video would have got this much publicity and attention tho and I am forever grateful for the feedback on it."

While Lauren's gran was happy to take part in the project, she hasn't watched it yet - fearing it might too emotional for her since losing her beloved Archie in 2013.

Lauren said: "She has seen the pictures and was upset but loved them and she has asked me to make her a photo book for a keep sake.

"I think it’s just a little raw for her still, the wee soul.

"All she ever knew was life with my granddad, they were neighbours in the same building since the age of nine."
