GLASGOW takes centre stage in a new trailer for the hit Fast and Furious franchise's latest spin off flick, Hobbs and Shaw.

Idris Elba can be spotted roaming around city centre streets as he takes on the film's stars Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham.

Universal Pictures production used on a number of streets around Glasgow, including George Square, Ingram Street and St Vincent Street during production in October.

The film follows in the footsteps of hits World War Z, Fast & Furious 6, Outlaw King, and the recently-released The Wife, and television productions Outlander, Shetland and The Cry who also used the city as part of their backdrop.

The latest instalment in the Fast & Furious franchise sees Johnson reprise his role as Luke Hobbs and Statham return as Deckard Shaw as they are recruited to track down Elba’s character Brixton.

The footage sees Brixton introduce himself as “a necessary shock to the system, I am human evolutionary change, bullet-proof, superhuman”.

It hits cinemas on August 2.
