A COLLEGE lecturer who made jokes about rape in a video and wrote a song about the disappearance of Madeline McCann is under investigation by his bosses.

Glasgow Clyde College launched a probe after footage emerged involving George Henry, a senior lecturer in Sound Production.

It comes as students raised concerns over video footage showing him making jokes about rape, Madeleine McCann and people with learning difficulties.

Henry is the drummer of tech metal band, The Colour Pink is Gay, and was publicising their work when the videos were taken.

In an interview on Metal Outlaw TV, he can be seen telling the presenter “we write rape in Morse code into the computer and see what comes back”, in regards to how their music is made.

While discussing their song ‘Maddy’, written about Madeleine McCann, the lecturer, based at Anniesland, explained: “The song was written with the image of what was Maddie thinking when the boot was just closing.”

In another interview, at an event called Tech Fest, the lecturer is heard telling the presenter that a fellow band member called someone a “spastic”, before going on to say that he also “casually mentions that he rapes people”.

As the conversation goes on, he jokes that the band could rename themselves as “spastic rapists”.

Following the comments he says, “I’ve got a really important job that I can’t lose, please don’t put this up.”

A concerned student contacted the Evening Times to say complaints about the videos had been ‘ignored’ by college bosses.

They added: “One woman is trying to express her concerns on the College’s Facebook page and Twitter comments and it seems like the college is burying the story. This isn’t right.”

A spokesperson for Glasgow Clyde College said: “We are aware of the online material and an internal investigation is ongoing.”

The Evening Times made attempts to contact George Henry for comment.

Three-year-old Madeleine, whose father Gerry is from Glasgow, disappeared on the evening May 3, 2007, from her bed in a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, a resort in the Algarve region of Portugal.

It sparked a massive investigation and her whereabouts remain unknown.
