RANGERS legend Paul Gascoigne has posted a throwback picture with English footballer Paul Ince.

The snap shows the football stars on the pitch moments after England's nil nil draw with Italy in Rome back in 1998 - the game which clinched the team's place at the World Cup in France later that year.

Gazza, shared the picture to Instagram with the caption: "Ha love this picture of me and Paul Ince even though he looks like a pint of Guinness ha.

"Miss them days x have a great day to everyone hugs from GAZZA."

Fans of the former Ibrox ace were quick to reminisce about his glory days of the sport, with many pointing out where they were during the iconic game.

However, the 51-year-old star received some negative feedback following the post, with fans hitting out at the caption.

One wrote: "It's a racist comment because it’s about his race. I'm not offended by it. I think it was funny. Jeez."

While others were quick to highlight the caption as a "joke", with one writing: "If you think this is racist, you ARE a racist! Joke is a joke."
