DEREK MCINNES reckons striker Alfredo Morelos was the difference between the sides as Rangers won 4-2 at Pittodrie.
The Colombian netted twice in the first half before he and Dons defender Scott McKenna were sent off by referee Bobby Madden.
Two Sam Cosgrove efforts didn’t prove enough for Aberdeen as James Tavernier and Jermain Defoe also netted for the Light Blues.
McInnes said: “The last goal I’m not too disappointed with – we got caught with too many bodies up top. It was a game that had everything. I’m disappointed we lost as there wasn’t a lot in the game. Morelos was the difference in the first half. He was a menace and his second finish was top class.
“Sometimes you have to applaud the play. I think we were unfortunate with the penalty – McKenna was appealing for offside. There’s no real complaints but it’s really unlucky that it’s hit his arm. The response to going behind was good. Rangers’ movement at the top end of the pitch was very good.”
