SEARCH efforts to find missing Kilbarchan pensioner Allan Burns ‘will not be downscaled’ at this stage, despite the fact he has not been seen for three weeks.
The 71-year-old, who suffers from dementia, disappeared on Friday, January 18, after going out for a walk on the Kilbarchan cycle path, heading towards Lochwinnoch.
Despite his medical condition, officers have said his disappearance is ‘out of character’.
There have been sightings in Lochwinnoch, with searches now purely focusing in and around the village.

Sergeant Barry McNaught, community police officer in Johnstone, said that, despite the lack of progress, there have been no discussions about downscaling.
He added: “There is still a lot of work to be done.
“The sightings put him in the Lochwinnoch area at around 5pm on the day he was last seen, so all the search activity is now happening there.
