ALLAN MCGREGOR Keeper has a potential two-game ban hanging over him after being cited by the Scottish FA but he had more important matters to deal with here. Saved from Burke early on and made a crucial block in a penalty box scramble on a relatively quiet night. 6

JAMES TAVERNIER Has had plenty of practice from the spot in recent times but he missed once again as Bachmann saved well after 15 minutes. Didn’t let the disappointment get to him, however, as he looked to drive Rangers on for the remainder of the game. 7

CONNOR GOLDSON Missed the league defeat here last month and his return has been welcomed by Rangers. Was solid defensively but his passing had to be better at times. 7

JOE WORRALL Returned to the scene of his howler on Premiership duty and didn’t look convincing in the early stages. Grew into the game, though, and should have tested Bachmann with a second half header. 7

ANDY HALLIDAY Back in the starting line-up as he replaced Borna Barisic at left-back and was kept honest by the dangerous Killie attack in the first half. Stuck to the task in his own half and got into more attacking positions after the break as he performed well once again. 7

ROSS MCCRORIE Midfielder can never be criticised for a lack of effort and he improved as the game went on as he became increasingly influential. Involved in a serious clash of heads with Power but got back to his feet and turned in an impressive performance. 8

RYAN JACK Was fortunate to escape a nasty head injury as Power caught him with a high boot that only merited a booking from referee Alan Muir. Another steady showing from the midfielder. 6

SCOTT ARFIELD Onus was on him to be the most creative of member of the Rangers midfield three but his talents were stifled as he struggled to assert himself during a low-key first half. Had to dig deep and play through the pain barrier before he was replaced for the final ten minutes or so. 6

DANIEL CANDEIAS His work-rate and attitude were the main positive from the first period for Rangers and the winger swung in a series of teasing crosses that went unconverted. Couldn’t find the decisive breakthrough, though. 7

RYAN KENT Did brilliantly in the build-up to the penalty award and was always a threat when Rangers got him on the ball. Tried his best to unlock the Killie defence but didn’t get the rewards his efforts perhaps merited. 7

JERMAIN DEFOE Lead the line in place of Alfredo Morelos but had little service in the first half as Rangers failed to utilise him properly. Pulled his only real effort wide of target on the angle on a largely frustrating night for the Englishman. 6

Substitutes:

STEVEN DAVIS (for Arfield) Could have been introduced earlier and fired a low shot wide in injury time. 3

KYLE LAFFERTY (for Defoe) On for the final minutes but couldn’t emerge as the Gers hero. 3
