PUPILS in Glasgow could be set to walk out of classes in a show of support for a mass protest over climate change fears.
Thousands of young people from across Scotland are taking part in a three-hour demonstration on Friday, to demand action to address their concerns.
Students in 38 towns and cities in the UK will be involved in the action, organised by UK Youth Strike 4 Climate.
The Glasgow event will take place outside the City Chambers at 11am. Pupils are due to return to school on Wednesday after the half-term break.
A statement on the event Facebook page reads: “The world’s youth are waking up.
“Millions of young people are realising it’s now or never and are ready to take direct action on the climate crisis and ecological catastrophe.
“Whether you are at school, college or university, go on strike with us on Friday, February 15.”
