SCOTLAND’S first double hand transplant patient has been nominated for a Woman of Influence award.
Corinne Hutton, from Lochwinnoch, has made the shortlist for Action for Children’s 19th annual awards.
The prestigious awards ceremony recognises remarkable women in Scotland who have had an outstanding impact on society and are role models to the disadvantaged children, young people, and families the charity supports.
Corinne created the charity Finding Your Feet after losing both hands and her lower legs due to acute pneumonia and sepsis in 2013.
The charity has also announced that Megan Boss, a 17-year-old young carer from Coatbridge, will be recognised with the ‘Inspirational Young Woman’ award,
Megan has been supported by the charity’s North Lanarkshire Young Carers project.
Other nominees include Yvonne Greaves, Head of Women in Business at NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland.
The awards will be held on March 17 at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow hosted by TV presenter Jean Johansson.
Paul Carberry, Director of Action for Children in Scotland, said: “We believe that each of the nominees is an inspiration to the next generation of women in Scotland and are outstanding role models for the young women our projects work with.”
